Anjuna beach is one of the prettiest beaches in North Goa and a perfect paradise for beach lovers. Its blue waters and a backdrop of hills makes it one of the scenic beaches.  This beach destination is located 8 km away towards the west of Mapusa and is dotted with a bizarre array of red laterite rocks. This beach is a total package for tourists, mostly foreigners. Known for its Hippie culture long back, the Anjuna flea market still takes the cake where back-packers, hippies, long-stayers and the ones who look to be put up in cheap stays or guesthouses are the frequent visitors here. Demography: Anjuna is a Census Town city which comes under the jurisdiction of North Goa and this town has a population of 9,636 of which 4,921 are males while 4,715 are females. The population of Children who fall under the age group of 0-6 is 836 which is 8.68 % of total population of Anjuna.

  • Weekly markets: For shoppers, the markets around Anjuna are a must-visit place. There are two popular weekly markets: a Wednesday Flea Market and the other is the Saturday Night Market, in Arpora. The Saturday Night Market by far has been a major attraction for tourists and has a whole variety to offer from artifacts to colorful stalls, domestic and international creations, food stalls selling different types of cuisine to live concerts.
  • Clubbing: Partying is synonymous with Anjuna and highly dramatic. Clubbing here is a culture and you can simply stroll into most of the beach shacks or clubs without getting disappointed. The setting at most partying, clubbing, dancing trance destinations is such that it seems that east meets west. There are full moon parties, exotic fire shows and some stunning DJs playing around in the night and the place just takes off during Christmas and New Year.
  • Bungee Jumping: This is an extreme adventure sport popular in Anjuna. ‘The Gravity Zone’ near Anjuna beach has a 25m high platform from where you can jump. This destination is one of the top-rated bungee jumping spots in the country.
  • Go Karting: For adventure enthusiasts who love to have fun with some karting, Anjuna has it for you, but you need to head towards Arpora in the evening.  There is a 350 m long track here, with karts powered by petrol. One single circuit of 10 laps will cost Rs 300.  A must-visit place if you are travelling in a group.

  • Eva Café: If you love your sandwiches, salads and sublime breakfasts featuring fresh-baked bread and a beautiful coffee then this is the best café in Anjuna. And, what If you love to sip a coffee with a great sunset in front of you? Yes, the evening menu includes nachos, a cheese platter and this will be with wine.
  • Burger Factory: If you love your burgers then visit this place. You can choose between chicken or beef burgers with toppings such as blue cheese, bacon and avocado.

Anjuna is a party place. The night life here is out of this world. Trance parties, night clubs buzzing with music and dance are all part of the place’s culture. If one is in Anjuna, then clubbing, partying and visiting good restaurants is all part of the routine.

  • Baba Au Rhum: It’s a top choice French restaurant with an open garden–restaurant vibe. Partly bakery and French cafe, this joint serves filled baguettes, croissants, crostini or quiche along with creamy pastas or a filet mignon. Craft beer on tap is also served.
  • Wednesday Flea Market: This market is located on the way to Anjuna beach where you can buy imported electric gadget to items like European snacks, Tibetan, Kashmiri, Gujarati trinkets and handicrafts. Cassettes of Goan Trance music to T-shirts are available.
  • German Bakery: A decent place where you can relax for hours and yet enjoy food and music. Cheese sandwich, lane pancake, Croissant is served here.
  • Curlies: Curlies is one of the first-ever beach shacks, located at the Anjuna Beach. What started as a small-time shack has today become a major landmark. The twin floor complex comes with two restaurants, bars, internet café, Sea View veranda, Tea House, Shopping, Indoor club. It’s fully equipped to host a party for 500 people.
  • Shiva Valley: a home for psychedelic gathering with large number of crowd from local boys to international and domestic crowds, the place is open from 9pm to 4am. It has nice interiors and a good view. The music is quite good. It welcomes you most of the times with Shiva trance or some spiritual trance music.
  • UV Bar: This bar is one to look out for as far as the best trance DJs are concerned. Most sought after beach front party venues.
  • Eatopia: Known for its good food and ambience, this joint serves local cuisine along with Indian, Chinese and Asian types. Has a bar and pub as well.
  • Cafe-lilliput: This cafe is situated at Anjuna beach and serves a variety of cocktails and good food. Great view of the entire beach from the first floor and beds by the beach are the options they provide. Beer battered Prawns, Butter Garlic prawns, Spinach Mushroom lasagna and Chicken Stroganoff are recommended.
  • Oltremarino: Oltremarino is an Italian restaurant managed by owners Vanna & Marco where Pizzas are yummy. The interiors are good and so is the ambience light with beautiful antiques. Wines are also very good.
